Cloth Diapering

Babyville Boutique

...still stuck in IN with no internet.  Anyone want to feel sorry for me? Because I whine about it, a lot! In my defense, Skype is my only communication with H, who is 14hrs ahead of me.  I sat in McD's at 11pm the other night to talk to him. And I had to drive 30mins to get there.  Wa-Wa.

So I have used all my new free time to get to know my sewing machine and make some CD stuff.  I bought the BabyVille Boutique snaps for diapers. BIGGEST. MISTAKE. EVER.  Has anyone used these before and had issues with them? I made the cutest diaper ever and after 2 hours finally got the snaps on and they won't even snap!

Are there other types of snaps and snap tool thingy that work better?

I also bought the H&L from Babyville and now I have a feeling its going to suck also :(

  • I'm glad you posted this! I considered getting those.

diapersewingsupplies.com has snaps. Maybe those would be better?

I use them just fine. Make sure you're pressing the pliers hard enough or the centers won't lay flat enough to close the snaps.

Well I'm glad there's hope! I've looked up some youtube videos so hopefully tomorrow I can figure these dang things out. I really like snaps vs H&L.

I feel like I was pressing too hard bc all the pieces were misshapen after I pressed them but the middle was pressed in. Maybe I'm using it wrong?

  • Its kinda hard to explain! If I could upload pictures through my phone I would show you.  I'm going to get it back out tomorrow and try again!

I'm glad they work for you bc I was giving up all hope and getting ready to through it in the woods. Now I am determined to figure it out!

  • A week or two ago I asked if the pliers work with KAM snaps and I guess they do you can try those. But I didn't have a problem with babyville snaps. Kam are on amazon.

  • I've used the babyville boutique snaps on all my diapers and they work fine.  They're a little "stiff," but I hope that will resolve itself with use.  You do have to squeeze REALLY hard...plan on taking lots of breaks while applying the snaps, my hands cramped up after a while.  Like PP said, make sure the smooth cap of the snap is centered in the base of the snap pliers and you should be good.  GL!
